À propos du livre
Alaskan section of a 25 day APT tour of Canada and Alaska
which took place in late August and early September 2019.
Our touring group of 33 Australians and 4 Kiwis started in
Vancouver, BC, then cruised the Inside Passage on board the
Golden Princess, visiting Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, then
cruised Glacier Bay, College Fiord, and disembarked at Whittier. Then by rail to Talkeetna, stay at Mount McKinley Princess Wilderness lodge, float trip down Talkeetna River, coach to Denali National Park, stay at Mt. McKinley Chalets, Tundra Wilderness Tour, cruised on sternwheeler on Chena River, travelled along Tanana Valley to Gold dredge 8, viewed Trans-Alaska pipeline, and concluded the APT tour at Fairbanks. Bruce and Anne flew south to Seattle (USA) for 3 days, took Amtrak train to Vancouver from where we flew home to NZ.
This book contains my personal story, told mainly in pictures,
which try to capture not only the magnificent landscapes
but also the people, street scenes, the animals and fauna
and the moods and the emotions. My camera lenses are my
eyes and I see beauty in simplicity of subjects, such as
raindrops on a leaf, a close up of a flower, patterns, textures,
shapes, colours, light and shadow and quirky subjects.
Both Anne and I enjoyed meeting and spending quality time
with our fellow passengers, all of whom shared in “bear and
moose watch” on the transport and hopefully they will also
enjoy this book to bring back happy memories. BB
