From being relatively unknown, the Bosnian-Swedish artist Zoran T. Zivkovic (1962- ) has become very popular and highly sought. His art is now available in a book, the first edition. By doing so he has gone, as always, in his own way. It has been difficult to place him in a special art historical context.

He has been working with clearly defined ideas based on his own experiences and the present’s man attitudes. However it’s not just a question about his personal experiences and its consequences, but as much about art effects. In his ingeniously composed and constructed visual arts, in many occasions, many times pure surreal, there are true human overtones, which make his art work so comprehensive and even inexhaustible.

The tension in his art work often occurs in the confrontation between different ”realities”like ”order/chaos”, ”surface/shape”, ”freedom/unfreedom”. His art reflects different aspects on History, Visions, the Doctrine, the Human’s Laws and their absurdities. At the same time it could be a game using the laws of art. In that way he succeeds to turn the concepts of art upside down and creates impossible image stories and optical illusions.
