À propos
Born in the Hudson Valley, I grew up in NYC, graduating from Queens College with a degree in Anthropology. I continued my studies for a master's degree in Anthropology at the Universidad de las Americas, in Cholula, Puebla, Mexico. I became a professor in the Department of Graphic Arts and Design at the University and returned to the US, in 1986, after living in Mexico for 16 years. I then worked for and retired from, the NYS Education Department, where I worked as a program developer for Adult Education programs located in NYC.
Photography has been my passion since kindergarten. I started with a Kodak Brownie camera and documented all my school trips and friends. I worked with an Instamatic, a bellows camera, a 4"x5" view camera, Nikon 35mm cameras, and now DSLR's. My travels throughout Mexico are documented in photographs as are my trips to various countries around the world. A selection of these photographs is on view on my website, sbvaz.com.
