À propos
I have always drawn. It's what I do. I work with Rotring Isograph pens on archival paper. My favorite comment about my work is "I've never seen anything like it." If my work ever starts resembling anyone elses, I'll know that it's time to quit. Not a lot of artists drawn anymore. There's easier ways of doing things. I enjoy being a throwback. I like street artist Banksy's quote: "All artists are willing to suffer for their work. But why are so few willing to learn to draw?"
I live in Idaho and work at my art full-time now that I'm retired from honest employment. My website is www.martinwilke.com.
I've had high quality giclee prints made of a few of my drawings but in very limited editions, (sometimes as few as 5 or 10 copies). Unlike most publishers, I take the term "limited edition" very seriously.
I learn things with each book I make. I'm about to start on two more books. One will be just drawings and the other will be photos.
