À propos du Ebook
The Mono Basin offers wonderful photography in the autumn and winter seasons without the summertime crowds, bugs and heat. Autumn turns the aspens and cottonwoods around Lee Vining Canyon, Lundy Canyon and the area surrounding Conway Summit into a golden background. The beginning of the fall color often occurs in early October but the duration of color depends of weather. Strong wind storms can strip the trees in a matter of a couple days.
Although heavy snow falls are not typical around Mono Lake, it only takes a couple feet of snow to provide sufficient coverage for winter photography. In cold temperatures, Poconip fog can form over the lake surface and can provide a beautiful thin coating of rime ice over trees, branches and most everything it contacts. The fog covering the lake area is relatively thin and the fog blanket can be observed from a high vantage such as Conway Summit.
The images were taken over the many autumns and winters initially with film cameras and later with digital cameras using both conventional color and infrared photography.
